Available Dogs
"These can't be your 'rescue dogs' ;
They're in much too beautiful a condition!"
Fred Mays, County Animal Control Officer, November, 2006

Please Note:
This is not a complete listing of available dogs.
There are more dogs in need of homes to which we can refer you.
If you're looking for an American Eskimo Dog, Sheltie or a Collie to bring into your
home and heart, drop us an email.  If you're looking for a Maltese, we can add you
to the waiting list.  Typically these breeds only become available to be re-homed because of the death of an owner, and are most often elderly dogs.
If you're looking for a carefully bred dog or puppy from a reputable breeder,
we can refer you.  Reputable breeders both founded and support breed rescue,
always take back their dogs if need be, and are not a part of any "rescue problem",
despite false claims made by Animal Rights advocates, who's true agenda is
not "saving" animals at all, but rather the total eradication of all domestic animals. See Articles Here
Please note that none of the dogs we have here are in need of being
"rescued". They have already been rescued - either from a kill shelter, or
from an owner ready to relinquish them to a kill shelter.
Most of the dogs we have "on referral" are actually in loving homes where,
for some reason or another, an owner must give them up to another
carefully screened family. These are not "rescue dogs" in the true sense of dogs
which need to be saved from being killed or abused.
Such dogs (which are available) are honestly not in great supply.
If you are interested only in finding a dog that "needs to be saved",
then go to your nearest kill shelter, and ask which dogs are "on the list"
for the next kill day.  They will tell you.
You will find that most are not considered "re-home-able", Those which are
re-home-able have, for the most part,
already been taken by various rescue groups.

Meet Katie!

This 30 Pound purebred
Standard American Eskimo girl has a
sweet, quiet nature and excellent house
manners!

Six years is still a youngster in this longlived breed
(eighteen years or more is not unusual), Katie is looking
for a lifelong commitment from someone who enjoys
easygoing companionship, quiet walks, and a laidback
lifestyle.

Obedience trained and raised on a fresh food diet, this dog
has always enjoyed being a pampered house dog in good
health.
She is used to living with a larger dog, and with cats - This is
not a shelter stray by any means.  Katie would love to find a
home with a retired woman, but will be an excellent watch dog and
companion for anyone who will appreciate her gentle and loving
nature.  She has always been allowed free run of the house, and
would not understand being expected to keep her clean and lovely
self off the furniture!  Extremely intelligent, insightful, calm natured,
healthy and loving, Katie is big enough to protect her person, and
small enough to cuddle with you!

UPDATE: Katie has been re-homed
into a wonderful family in Northern CA!

Meet Munchkin!

Shy and sweet, this Yorkie / Wheaton Scottie mix weighs in at seven pounds and is waiting to share your quiet, loving home!

Munchie is a young five years of age, and was terrorized by children as a puppy.  She has learned that we won't allow anything or anyone to hurt her, and has developed a quiet, trusting nature by which we feel honored.  Munchie is extremely easy going and a pleasure to live with.  She gets most excited when she sees a bug flying low enough for her to capture, and does the "Munchkin Dance" in quiet persuit of it!  She would blossom beautifully in a low key environment where
she could be the princess of her domain.  She has excellent house manners.  She has a Yorkie build with a Scottie tail, ears, and coloration.  Her personality is all her own, and she's a quiet charmer with a heart full of love to give to a very deserving person.
